Suspension pivots or spherical pins are mechanisms composed of articulated pins that secure the wheel hub to the suspension. It is the Pivots that make the connection between the suspended parts (chassis, body) and the non-suspended parts (telescopic, axle, wheel hub). They receive large loads and efforts during acceleration, braking and level oscillation of the vehicle in curves, and, in some cases, also support much of the vehicle's weight. The pivots have a protective hood that prevents dust or any type of foreign material penetrates the hinged ball compartment, thus preventing premature wear of the Pivot components and possible breakage.
